Recently, our computer server was infected with a virus that locked our files, due to the opening up of an email and the inadvertent “click” of a mouse. Did you know that emails that seem to be from the ATO, Australia Post and other government agencies should be considered suspicious?
Here are some tips for identifying a suspicious email:
- Hover over the sender’s address. It will look unfamiliar.
- Don’t Click. Ring the company and verify if anything was sent.
- Usually, the ATO will communicate via your accountant.
- Check with IT Support.
A big shout out to Loyal IT who recently upgraded our systems and had our back up “ready to go”. Even though they were having a “Team Day”, they attended to our IT issues promptly, cleaning up and restoring our server within half a day, securing all our patient information and files.
DID YOU KNOW?
A clicking sound in your jaw joint when you open or close your mouth might indicate temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD)?
Some other symptoms may include:
- Pain in facial muscles, neck and shoulders
- Jaws that get “locked” in an open or closed mouth position
- Popping or grating sound in jaw joint
If TMD is causing pain and discomfort, your dentist can discuss with you possible causes and management. In some cases, a splint (similar to a mouthguard but made of hard plastic) may be required. More serious cases may need referral to an oral surgeon or prosthodontist. TMD can be temporary or last many years.
