The Prime Minister has announced a move back to Level 2 restrictions, which is a proportionate response based on the evolving community context*, effective 26th April.
What does level 2 restrictions mean?
We will continue to see all urgent and emergency patients.
We will ALSO be able to treat our regular (non-emergency) patients who are needing dental treatment within the ADA’s framework for dental restrictions during COVID-19
Essentially, we will be able to do dental examinations, (simple) fillings with rubber dam, simple (non-surgical) extractions, denture and other treatments that do not involve generation of aerosols or where aerosols generated have the presence of minimal saliva/blood due to the use of rubber dam.
We recommend if you are due for your check up and are healthy and happy to keep your appointment, we can do your dental examination and discuss your treatment plan. Relevant treatment within level 2 restrictions can be done with your consent and subsequent appointments made if needed. Please note that where a clean requires the use of an ultrasonic scaler or if a rubber dam can’t be placed on a particular tooth for a filling to be done, then this will need to be scheduled at a future time when restrictions are no longer in place.
Already got an appointment?
We will be calling our patients who have delayed their appointments due to the COVID-19 Level 3 restrictions. Thank you so much for your understanding at this time.

Health and Safety Precautions
As an accredited dental practice, we already hold a high standard for infection control. In light of the COVID-19 situation, we are taking extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of all patients receiving essential dental services in our care. We appreciate your co-operation in observing these extra precautions.
- If you are self-isolating, or have a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19, Renwick Dental does not have the resources to be able to treat your dental emergency. The appropriate rooms and equipment needed are only available in hospitals. If this is the case for you, please call the National Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 020 080.
- If you are generally not feeling well, have symptoms such as fever, shortness of breath, a cough or cold, please postpone your dental appointment.
- On arrival, you can wait in the waiting room or in your car and call our reception on 4328 4581 to check in. We will call you at your appointment time.
- On entering our premises, please use the hand sanitiser.
- Please observe social distancing measures at all times. The only exception will be in the dental surgery when our staff are wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
We are currently booking appointments with extra time to allow our staff to prepare the rooms for our patients with best practice for infection control and hygiene measures.
Thank You
This is a challenging time for our entire community as we adapt to changes in our lives. As a local business, we thank you for your support at this time. It is truly appreciated.
We look forward to when we can fully open our doors to all of you once again. We will be sure to update and inform you as new information becomes available and the situation progresses.
Stay safe and we will see some of you soon,
Drs Scott Cooper and Jeanne Chong
* The easing of restrictions is a consequence of an assessment of risk by the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) and the National Cabinet using the framework the ADA put forward initially to the AHPPC, and after consultation with the ADA over the last few days. Both the National Cabinet and AHPPC are regularly reviewing the community context and will scale restrictions with respect to transmission risk and the needs of the broader community.
